THE STORY

Behind the name

Jim Brand was the born into the third generation of an Australian winemaking legacy with his family name synonymous with the world renowned Coonawarra region.

His life was dedicated to producing iconic wines from his families famous Coonawarra vineyards with a passion and sincerity which is evident in every glass. His passion spoke much louder than his words, his influence felt long since his time passed.

THE STORY

Winemaking

The fruit from the 2020 vintage was fermented on skins and pumped over twice daily to ensure maximum extraction of colour and flavour. The wine was then pressed off while still slightly sweet and pumped to new and used oak barrels to complete primary and malo-lactic fermentation. On completion of primary and malo-lactic fermentation the wine was racked off lees and then transferred back to refreshed wood for 18 months of final barrel maturation in a mixture of new (30%) and second shave fine-grained French oak.
